1999-now Netherlands Forensic Institute, section Digital Evidence: Forensic scientist in the areas (video) image processing, photogrammetry and biometrics. R&D-coordinator of projects on Digital Evidence.

1997-1999   Netherlands Forensic Institute, section Digital Evidence : forensic scientist in the field of (video) image processing.

1995-1997 Netherlands Forensic Institute, section Firearms : forensic scientist and involved in R&D-projects on automatic comparison of cartridge cases and bullets.

1992 – 1995 Netherlands Forensic Institute, section Toolmarks : forensic scientist in the field of shoeprints and toolmarks. In 1994 appointed by the Dutch court to expert witness under permanent oath. R&D-projects in image databases of shoe prints and toolmarks.

1988- 1992 OCE Nederland BV Venlo
R&D-projects image processing in digital photocopiers. Furthermore involved in literature research for patent infringement, new developments and new inventions.

2004-  Coordinator of WP6 Forensic Implications within the FIDIS (Future of Identification Systems) project of the EU.

2003-  Fellow member of the Engineering section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences

2002- 2004 Vice-chairman of ENFSI Forensic IT Working group (www.enfsi.org )

2000-now Chairman of Investigative Image Processing Technical group of SPIE (www.spie.org)

1995 Young investigator award : National Research Institute of Police Science in Tokyo for a project on video image restoration in which we tested several methods, like MTV and Maximum Entropy.

1992-now : webmaster of www.forensic.to with information on forensic science.
